New Teaser For Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Confirms Jim Carrey Casting To Some Capacity

The success of Sonic the Hedgehog in the box office remains to be an exciting time looking ahead at what’s next for the franchise. Of course, it is confirmed that Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is set to release next year on March 19th. Additionally, it was also revealed that a ‘Sonic Universe Event Film’ is also on the way the following year in 2028.

As for the current film underway, Paramount Studios has confirmed its casting for Amy Rose in the fourth live-action entry. In February, it was revealed that Kristen Bell (Assassin’s Creed, Frozen) is to voice the female lead for Sonic the Hedgehog 4. Metal Sonic is also confirmed for the new movie too. Sonic the Hedgehog 4 takes inspiration from Sonic CD, which is from the list of copyright titles that were arranged by Paramount & Sega previously. 

This week, Thursday marks the remaining 365 days until Sonic the Hedgehog 4. As part of the marketing beginning to kick off as filming has already begun, Paramount Studios revealed the casting for Sonic the Hedgehog 4. Among stars like Ben Schwartz, Idris Elba, and Keanu Reeves, Jim Carrey is to reprise his role as well. You can watch the teaser in the video below:

The main cast confirmed for Sonic the Hedgehog 4, verified by Variety, consists of: Jim Carrey, Ben Schwartz, Kristen Bell, Idris Elba, Keanu Reeves, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Ben Kingsley, Matt Berry, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, Lee Majdoub, Nick Offerman and Richard Ayoade. After the ending of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, many were worried about is Carrey would return to the series for a fourth time.

In the past, Carrey has continued to express his fulfillment not only in the role, but in Hollywood altogether. According to an interview back in 2022, he confirmed he was happy with possible intent to conclude his career then. And as a response, producer Toby Asher has said there was never any plans to recast Dr Robotnik if Carrey decided to commit to retiring. You can read the full report by heading here.
