Assassin’s Creed, Frozen Lead Kristen Bell Casted For Amy In Sonic The Hedgehog 4

More than a year ago, Paramount Studios officially releases Sonic the Hedgehog 3. The film featured a combination of action & comedy that complemented both Jim Carrey’s Dr. Robotnik as well as Keanu Reeves‘ Shadow the Hedgehog. Of course, it did not take long for Paramount to go ahead and confirm that a fourth film is in the pipeline to release later in 2027.

Following the film’s run in the box office, there have been other reports on the film franchise. From The Wrap, it was disclosed multiple spin-off films are underway at Paramount Studios. One previous report indicated a standalone Shadow the Hedgehog film is in the works. Additionally, a new ‘Sonic Universe Event Film’ is understood to release in 2028; a year after Sonic the Hedgehog 4.

Now amid the wait for production to commence for the next Sonic the Hedgehog film, a confirmation for its cast was revealed. From The Hollywood Reporter, it is shared that Kristen Bell (Frozen, Assassin’s Creed) is to voice the role of Amy in Sonic the Hedgehog 4. On X, Sonic voice Ben Schwartz celebrated the reveal.

The Hollywood Reporter also disclosed that known leadership behind the camera is also set to return. Jeff Fowler, director for the first three movies, is to return to the chair for the fourth installment. Producers Neal H. Moritz and Toby Ascher are to return under Original Films alongside Toru Nakahara from Sega to also produce for the new film.

Looking at the big picture for Sonic the Hedgehog 4, Paramount is preparing to ship another event release for its series. In a previous interview, Asher explained that the main films will act as “Avenger-like events” that stand out among other side projects that will release throughout.
