While rhythmic titles are still appreciated forms of media, the options are spread too far apart. But when Crypt of the Necrodancer shipped, it was a breath of fresh air pairing the genre with dungeon crawling adventure. The same can also be said for the later Hyrule: Crypt of the Necrodancer which splashed a Legend of Zelda coat of paint on the refreshing experience as well.
So when Brace Yourself Games announced Rift of the NecroDancer, excitement only ramped upward for the new release. Gameplay revealed showed promise as fans were eager to return to the universe with new ways to play. In March 2025, the developer confirmed a Nintendo Switch version was primed for release then. Additionally, a Celeste collab Music Pack was also shipped at the same time.
Now this week, Brace Yourself Games is back once again. This time, Rift of the NecroDancer is here with a new Music Pack – this time with help from Toby Fox as part of a new Undertale collaboration. You can watch the DLC trailer in the video below:
“Hold on to your wigs. It’s convention season, and the NecroDancer cast is all geared up in their freshest UNDERTALE cosplays to celebrate the long awaited UNDERTALE Music Pack,” the blog post reads. The music track includes the following songs: Spider Dance, Death By Glamour, Berguntrückung / ASGORE, Hopes and Dreams, Battle Against a True Hero, and MEGALOVANIA.
Brace Yourself Games emphasizes the ‘Spider Dance’ is a free track for all users in the announcement. Other changes that come with the new DLC includes Queen as Muffet, Harmonie as Mettaton, Heph as Asgore, Merlin as Asriel, The NecroDancer as Frisk, and Nocturna as Undyne.
