Memories in Crimson Desert are the interactive, replayable narrative scenes or clues discovered in the world using the Visione. Memories can be reviewed in the menu, where they are organized by type and region.
A new memory is usually indicated by an orange exclamation mark in the menu. You have to choose the best method to equip the Visione Helmet after obtaining it during the Main Quest: Memory Fragment in Chapter 1. Playing the memories provides lore and clues, and is often required to solve quests.

How to Find Visione Helmet
Unlike normal gear, the Visione Helmet is not something you buy or loot randomly in Crimson Desert. You get the Visione Helmet while completing the questline. It is tied to memory mechanics and is unlocked when you get Memory Fragments and the Vision-based investigation system. You need to progress the main story till you reach your first memory investigation quest.
The game automatically gives you the Visione Helmet. Completing the main story at the start of Chapter 2 allows you to get Visione Helmet. You get a brief introduction to using the helmet to view memories after picking up the Visione.
How to use Visione
Visione is a helmet that lets you read Memory Fragments in Crimson Desert. These memories are crucial to use for quest progression, investigation clues, and lore. Explore the world and look for the memory spots. The game then automatically tells you to use your lantern where it reacts. Turn on your lantern and move around slowly while looking for a blue glow or pulsing light.
Once you get the prompt to read the memory fragment on the screen, confirming it lets you play the memory fragment. You must manually equip it to play a memory. You may also miss the memory fragment completely if you get distracted.
Equip Visione using the Equipment wheel
You can equip the Visione Helmet by equipping it using the Equipment wheel. Press the right D-pad to open the quick function wheel. Hit the RB on the controller and E on the keyboard to navigate the Armor tab.
Look for the helmet or special item slot, usually located in the 4th slot clockwise from the top. Press L2 + R2 together to use the helmet ability. Open equipment wheel, switch to armor tab, hover over helmet, and select Visione. It doesn’t equip if you’re in the wrong wheel section or didn’t press the activation combo.
Use Contextual Menu to Equip Visnione
Using the Contextual Menu is the fastest and most reliable method to equip the Visione in Crimson Desert. Find or unlock a Memory Fragment by exploring, using a lantern, or completing the quest. This is crucial because the contextual button only works when there’s something to interact with. Press the option button on PS5 and the menu button on Xbox or PC for the Contextual menu.
Contextual button changes depending on your recent actions. When a memory is available, pressing the contextual button auto-equips the Visione Helmet. Doing so lets you play the memory instantly and auto-unequip the helmet afterward. This method only works when you’ve revealed a memory.
Make sure to use the first method if you prefer to view a different memory or if the contextual menu has switched away. You also don’t need the lantern, as you can use the light on the sword. The contextual menu is basically a one-button Visione shortcut, allowing you to use it whenever you see a memory prompt.
