fast travel crimson desert

Discover everything you need to know about fast travel in Crimson Desert, including how to locate Abyss Nexus and Abyss Cresset.

Fast travel is unlocked by discovering and activating Abyss Nexuses and Abyss Cressets throughout the world of Pywel in Crimson Desert. Unlocking more of these points lets you fast-travel to more areas and make the progression fast.

Look for large question marks on the map indicating “mysterious energy,” or use the “Blinding Flash” ability to locate the blue markers. You cannot be mounted on a horse while trying to fast travel. Stand on the round stone platforms until they light up blue to activate Abyss Nexus.

How To Fast Travel

Crimson Desert allows players to fast travel via Abyss Nexus and Abyss Cresset. Locations of these points are all scattered around the map, requiring you to find them. You open the map and find the Mysterious Energy Icon, which is basically the fast travel point. Abyss Nexus is the main teleport hub, while the Abyss Cresset is the secondary point.

Open the map to mark the Mysterious Energy location and go there. Approach these points and stand on them to activate them. Once activated, it becomes a permanent fast travel point. Abyss Cresset requires a climbing puzzle and environmental challenges.

Once you have at least one point unlocked, open the map and select an unlocked fast travel point. Double-click or press the prompted button to teleport instantly while standing on one of these points. Make sure to view the All or Environment tab if you have already unlocked the fast travel points, but it’s not showing on the map.

How to Find the Abyss Nexus

Abyss Nexus is the main fast travel point in Crimson Desert that works as a teleport hub between locations. You can travel to it anytime from the map after activating it. The game marks Nexus locations as Glowing circles or question marks called Mysterious Energy.

These markers almost always lead to Abyss Nexus or Abyss Cresset. Some of the Nexus points are not available to use immediately, requiring you to complete the puzzles or use abilities like Force Powers or Light skills. Some are even broken and must be repaired first.

Certain Nexus only appear or activate after completing certain main quests or entering the Abyss. Once you find one, walk on the circular pad on the ground and stand on it. Doing so lets you light it up and unlock this Nexus point as a fast travel point. Now, open the map and select Abyss Nexus to confirm teleportation. Nexus are often near Hernand, roads, and ruins.

How to Find the Abyss Cresset

Abyss Cresset in Crimson Desert is the secondary fast travel point that works just like Abyss Nexus, but with extra benefits. It allows you to gain Abyss Artifacts and gives skill upgrades or unlocks skills. On the map, these also appear as glowing circles or question mark icons.

Abyss Cressets are usually hidden inside locations, not out in the open. You can most probably find them in ancient ruins, underground chambers, puzzle rooms, and on hilltops. Solving a ruin puzzle can reveal a Cresset that gives rewards and fast travel.

Unlike Nexus, Cressets are often locked behind challenges like aligning symbols, moving objects, using abilities, and opening hidden doors. Some Cressets are hidden until you use skills like Flash or Detection and find blue glow or energy sparks. After activation, open the map and select the cresset icon to confirm teleportation.

Key Restrictions To Fast Travel

You cannot fast travel if you’re on a mount. The game also prevents you from teleporting if you are carrying an outlaw on your shoulder. The Abyss Nexus shows that it’s unavailable while standing on it if you have a bounty on yourself.

Certain Nexus locations must be repaired or unlocked via quests before use. Unlock as many as possible early to make the travel much easier. The quest fails if you fast-travel after getting yourself on a bounty list.

Hi, I’m Ali. I started gaming with Max Payne, and it set the tone for my interest in darker, more immersive experiences. I mostly play soulslikes, RPGs, and FPS titles that focus on tight mechanics and pacing.

I have a strong appreciation for game soundtracks and how they shape the overall experience. I’m also a long-time horror fan, across both games and films, with a preference for atmosphere-driven storytelling. This space reflects that passion, exploring games through both their mechanics and the atmosphere they create.
