Crimson Desert inventory size

Discover everything you need to know about how to boost inventory size in Crimson Desert, including different methods to help you get more space.

Inventory is a slot-based system that holds all collected items, including weapons, armor, and crafting materials, with no weight limit in Crimson Desert. Similar items, like crafting materials and ammo, can stack in a single slot. Increasing the inventory space is essential to store more items from the early to the late game.

How to Increase Inventory Space

You increase capacity by obtaining Small (+1 slot), Medium (+3), and Large (+5) bags through quests or by purchasing them from vendors.  Prioritize Faction Quests to earn bags as rewards, which are detailed in the journal.

Inventory in Crimson Desert

Inventory

The inventory in Crimson Desert is your main storage area where all your items are kept. It includes weapons, armor pieces, crafting materials, consumables, quest items, and more. It’s basically your character’s personal backpack used for everything you collect while exploring the world.

You start with limited slots of 50 and increase them using different bags. There are unlimited items to collect in the game, but your limited slots prevent you from gathering all the materials. Although the increased inventory slots don’t let you collect all the items, they can still make a huge difference.

requests

Each item you collect takes an inventory slot, and you can’t pick more items if the inventory is full. The UI organizes items into sections like equipment, materials, consumables, and key items. Letters are stored in a documentary section, not as normal items. At launch, there is no proper storage chest system, so everything you collect enters to your inventory.

However, the Supply Chest Howling Hill stores missed loot from events. You can also use items from inventory by opening the menu and selecting the item. Choose the item, press the Use option for consumables and pouches, or Read for documents and letters. I recommend that you use consumables instead of hoarding and stop carrying duplicate gear.

Increase Inventory Space Using Small Bags

Small Bags are the inventory upgrade items in Crimson Desert. Each of these bags grants +1 inventory slots permanently. Use these bags to increase your inventory by 1 space, allowing you to carry extra items while exploring the world or completing the quest.

The small bags can only be purchased from the vendors in the starting towns, market areas, and traveling merchants. Almost every vendor has one small bag, so make sure to purchase them in the first place using the in-game currency (50 Copper).

Each merchant usually sells only one, so check multiple vendors to stack upgrades. You can get 10+ extra slots early just by buying from different merchants.  Once you purchase it from the vendor, it enters your inventory. Open the inventory menu, find the Small Bag, and press the LMB on it to increase the slot by 1.

Increase Inventory Space Using Medium or Larger Bags

faction quests

For more extra inventory slots, you must use medium and larger slots in Crimson Desert. These are higher-tier inventory upgrades and are better than Small Bags because they give more slots per item. Medium Bags add +3 inventory slots, letting you put more items during exploration.

The game allows you to check which quest rewards you with these two high-level bags. Open the Journal menu and check the Main Quests tab and the Faction Quests tab to find out which quest gives these bags.

Crimson Desert gameplay

Complete the side quests and NPC requests to get the Medium Bags. Large Bags are tied to main story milestones and mid-to-late game progression. Enhance your Crimson Desert inventory slots by helping your fellow Greymanes.

Getting a single Larger Bag in Crimson Desert lets you gain +5 inventory slots upon reaching the specific objective in the campaign. Unlocking the Damiane as a playable character in Chapter 3, finishing Howling Hill camp expansion in Chapter 3, and unlocking Oongka as a playable character in Chapter 7 let you earn Larger Bags. Ignoring side quests and the main objective in the main storyline allows you to miss these inventory upgrades.

Hi, I’m Ali. I started gaming with Max Payne, and it set the tone for my interest in darker, more immersive experiences. I mostly play soulslikes, RPGs, and FPS titles that focus on tight mechanics and pacing.

I have a strong appreciation for game soundtracks and how they shape the overall experience. I’m also a long-time horror fan, across both games and films, with a preference for atmosphere-driven storytelling. This space reflects that passion, exploring games through both their mechanics and the atmosphere they create.
